Why We Exist

Girlhood deserves guidance.

Women Divine, NFP empowers girls and young women through culturally responsive rites of passage, mentorship, menstrual health and wellness education, leadership development, and community-based programming that centers Black girls and girls from historically underserved communities while building confidence, strengthening identity, and supporting healthy development.

We believe a girl becomes who she is meant to be in relationship — not in isolation. That belief shapes every circle we hold, every workshop we facilitate, and every kit we place in a girl's hands.

Founder in a warm embrace

"Every girl deserves women who help her remember who she is." — Twymeika "Jendayi" Hill-Jones, M.S., Founder

Our Approach

We don't simply mentor girls. We prepare them for womanhood.

Rather than approaching girls only through academic achievement or crisis intervention, we support the whole girl — body, voice, culture, and community.

Rites of PassageCulturally grounded rituals that mark and honor a girl's transition toward womanhood.
MentorshipConsistent relationships with women who model what she is becoming.
Cultural IdentityRootedness in Black history, heritage, and pride as a foundation for self-worth.
Menstrual WellnessBody literacy and period dignity, taught without shame.
Emotional DevelopmentLanguage and tools for naming feelings, setting boundaries, and repairing conflict.
LeadershipReal opportunities to lead, speak, and shape her own community.
SisterhoodCircles of girls and women who see each other and stay in relationship.
Community CarePartnerships with schools, families, and neighborhoods that surround her with support.
Programs

Pathways for becoming.

Every program answers the same questions: who it's for, what happens inside it, and what she carries with her afterward.

Program Story

How to GlowUP in Self-Care

Facilitated for Stand 4 Sisterhood, under the direction of Dr. Margueritte Johnson, this interactive wellness workshop was designed to help girls understand that genuine self-care begins on the inside.

  • Opened with a devotion connecting self-care, faith, and the importance of refilling their own cups
  • Explored practical ways to nurture the mind, body, and soul
  • Helped participants identify what drains their glow — and the healthy habits, boundaries, and support systems that restore it
  • Encouraged each girl to create a personal, realistic self-care promise
  • Concluded with take-home Self-Care Starter Kits featuring a crystal bracelet, herbal tea, honey stick, and a GlowUP Self-Care Card from Empower You, PERIOD!

The girls were engaged, reflective, and open — reminding us that self-care is more than pampering. It is learning to listen to your body, honor your emotions, protect your peace, and ask for what you need.

In partnership with Dr. Margueritte Johnson and Stand 4 Sisterhood.

In Their Own Words

What the girls themselves say.

Handwritten journal reflection from a program participant, Nylah H.

"I liked the fact that I was able to come today. I felt very welcome and very comfortable. I was able to be myself. Also, I met new people who seem to be very nice. I hope I can come again."

— Nylah H., program participant

Maalah Dorsey, program participant

"While apart of the Coming Of Age Rites, I've grown to be more comfortable with my femininity, improved my mindset and gained a solid Sisterhood. Friendship matters."

— Maalah Dorsey, Rites of Passage graduate

A wall of handwritten reflections and affirmations from program participants

"It's OK, your period is your power."  ·  "True beauty starts from the heart."  ·  "You are marvelous."
